Although the weather may be still be a bit cold and damp (not that we mind!) March is the first sign of spring, it's the perfect chance to step outdoors, explore and take in all of the lovely spring colours outside. Visit Peter Pan at Kensington Gardens The birthplace of Queen Victoria and the gorgeous setting for Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens is a must for any outdoor loving family this spring. It covers a huge 242 acres and a great spot for a city wander! But best of all, the Peter Pan statue! Located west of the Long Water, there are squirrels, rabbits, mice and fairies too! Don’t forget your fairy dust! Find out more here. Join in the fun at the London Wetland Centre – 11th and 18th March Nature lovers at the ready! This month, The London Wetland Centre has three tremendous events taking place. If you’re a WWT member, join others for their monthly wildlife walk on the 11th and explore the reserve in all its beauty. Or on the 18th, learn more about the species that live in the reserve and check out the awesome workshops which are taking place. Garden of Light 7th – 12th March Celebrate the start of spring this weekend at Paternoster Square, St Pauls. There will be over 2000 handmade daffodils lighting up to mark the Great Daffodil Appeal 2017. Each flower represents a Marie Curie nurse who provides care and support for people living with terminal illness. This instillation will look amazing and is definitely worth popping by for to support the amazing campaign. Find out more here.
The Fantastic Hackney City Farm Located by Haggerston Park, Hackney City Farm as a wonderful visit for any children who love animals, nature and getting muddy outside! For over 20 years, the farm has been giving Londoners the chance to experience farming right in the heart of the city centre! Every week there is a whole host of activities for your little ones to try out! They can take part in children’s pottery or even join the baby music class, set in their lovely straw bale building. Stroll Through Highgate Wood If you’re searching for a North London woodland stroll, Highgate Wood is an absolute hidden gem! It’s a haven for wildlife and has loads of incredible trails to explore down. We’re eyeing it up as a potential picnic location for our first feast of the year.
