What is Empty Classroom Day?

Here at Muddy Puddles we are always searching ways we can extend our commitment to inspiring families and children to get outside and take part in events, activities or within education. After recently launching our already successful Muddy Academy, we are looking to support outdoor learning and outdoor play in any way possible! We are intent on spreading the message that children need to spend 5-15 hours per week on outdoor activity to have healthy bodies and excellent concentration, therefore we are proud to support Empty Classroom Day! Backed by Persil’s Dirt is Good campaign, the event takes place on the 17th of June and is a truly wonderful idea which celebrates and inspires learning and play to take place outside of the classroom, in the fresh summer air, sounds right up our street!  Empty Classroom Day is a worldwide campaign, now is your chance to get and involved and join the hundreds of schools who are leaving their text books inside and are experimenting and learning in a whole wide range of subjects, outside. Maths can take place away from the whiteboard too you know! Teachers, Parents and Partners are welcome to join! And take part, it couldn’t be easier, simply sign up your school on the website and let them know how you plan to spend day outdoors. You will also find some ideas on what you can do to if you’re new to outdoor learning. You’ll never look back! Need some more outdoor inspiration? Join our Muddy Academy to receive wonderful outdoor learning resources which will perfect for the day ahead!
