- Why aren’t their houses a dome shape?
- Have they ever seen different shape houses?
- Show children pictures of a yurt, igloo and mud hut. Ask children what these houses are made of and why.
Build Houses
Provide children with straw (unless readily available in your outside area) and ask them to collect stones or rocks and sticks.
Ask children to create the houses from the story:
1. A house made from straw
2. A house made from sticks
3. A house made from rocks or stones
Optional – if you have toy pigs, give each group some pigs to put in their houses
