The summer holidays are a truly special time in any children’s calendar, it gives them the perfect chance to enjoy outdoor play and activities for 6 whole weeks! They might have not have realised it, but very soon they will be returning back to school – they must be having so much fun! Wrap up summer with trips to these wonderful outdoor spaces! The Ecology Centre The Ecology Centre runs a scheme of environmental themed activities all throughout summer and is wonderful venue to visit with the children! Learn about animals, discover wildlife in a nature trial or join in with Wild Thursdays! Read their full summer program here. Don’t miss out; events are taking place until Friday 2nd September! This is also an incredible location for schools, so teachers check it out! Corams Fields If you’re searching for a new green space in Central London why not take a trip to Coram's Fields? It’s located slap bang in the middle of the city! Next door to Kings Cross Station, the area is a fantastic place to explore with children. Described as a ‘haven of play’, your explorers will absolutely adore it! Discover more about the space here. London Canal Museum The museum host a number of wonderful family friendly events and activities for young your puddlestompers to take part in. See the canal's events listings here. These events are activity days specially designed for children. Ran by the education team, kids have the chance to take a short boat trip, whilst playing and participating in craft activities, fancy dress, nautical games and more! Sessions are 10:30am and 13:30pm are suitable for ages 6-12. Vauxhall City Farm Open from 10:30am – 16:30pm the farm is a great spot to finish your summer plans and put a stop to midweek boredom before the back to school rush. The farm offers a peaceful escape from busy city life; meet the animals whilst you investigate elements of wildlife and nature, it’s also another superb schools venue! Barnard Park Adventure Playground Stretching over 9 acres, Barnard Park boasts flagship play and several sports facilities which are ideal for keeping the kids entertained. As well as an extensive children's adventure playground full of the classic components, there is wet water play area - so don’t forget your towel!
