10 Things to Do on the Islands of Guernsey
Here at Muddy Puddles, we love adventure and exploring the great outdoors. The islands of Guernsey are located less than an hour from the UK and offer the perfect escape to connect with both the family and nature. From beautiful beaches to wildlife spotting and a range of adventurous activities, there's something to suit everyone.
Last month, Katy of @otisandus_ took a trip to Guernsey with the family to see what it had to offer and test out some of our high-performance outerwear and swimwear. We've put together a list of 10 things to do on the islands of Guernsey, making it a great place to visit for a family holiday.
1. La Vallette Bathing Pools
Enjoy a refreshing swim with views of Herm, Sark and Jethou islands at the saltwater pools on Guernsey's east coast. Then enjoy views of Castle Cornet, the sea and Guernsey’s neighbouring islands at the cafe on site.

2. Surf lesson at Vazon Bay
If you fancy hitting the waves, head to Vazon Bay and take part in an exhilarating surf lesson - don't forget UV swimwear and one of our waterproof robes or a towelling poncho to dry off afterwards. Then enjoy food at the beach side cafe, Vistas after your lesson.
3. Wild Food Foraging Workshop
A fun, 2 hour workshop which covers fire starting, cooking outside and foraging (inland and on the seashore) and eating wild food, great for the whole family. The course is available year round but pre booking is essential.
4. Rockpooling at Portelet Bay
The perfect spot for exploring the rock pools and searching for marine treasures. See how many different things you can find!
5. Explore the island on foot
Choose from a range of Visit Guernsey's self-guided walking routes and take in the island's stunning coastline on all five of the islands. There's plenty of routes to choose from including 'Forts, Cannons and Lookout Towers' and 'Nature's Pool and Smuggler's Hideout'.
6. Paddleboarding at Shell Beach, Herm
Enjoy a fun day at the beach and get adventurous with a paddle boarding or kayaking session with the family. Paddle clockwise around the island to discover a hidden bay right next door!
7. Visit a fairy ring
At the south-western point of the island on Pleinmont headland, there's a site which in local folklore is linked with fairies, witches and elves, known locally as the Fairy Ring.
8. Guided Family Coasteering Tour
Make it a holiday to remember and explore the intricacies of Guernsey's coastline with a guided family coasteering tour - you can try rock scrambling, jumping and swimming in caves and gullies.
9. Explore on two wheels
A network of cycle-friendly lanes known as the Ruettes Tranquilles operates across Guernsey, giving priority to bikes, walkers and horses. It's a great way to get around and explore at your own pace.
10. Go on a boat trip
Set sail and head on a boat trip around the waters of Guernsey and Herm. It's a great way to spot the local wildife, visit caves and is a great opportunity for birdwatching.
