5 Outdoor Ideas to Banish the January Blues in London
Christmas and New Year celebrations have been and gone, festive fun will have to wait for one more year. But fear not, there’s still plenty of outdoor fun to be had this winter with your little ones!

1) Skate at Somerset House - until 12 January 2025
Even though this may seem the perfect Christmas activity, you can still glide and slide under the stars. Take your little ones for a trip outdoors this weekend and have fun on the ice together.
2) Winter Tree Walk at Beaulieu Hights - Saturday 11 January 2020
Join the London Wildlife Trust for a guided walk and learn how to identify trees in winter and spot as many types of trees as you can with your little ones. The event is free, no need to book (donations are welcome).
3) Explore Epping Forest
As London's largest open space, Epping Forest covers around 2,400 hectares and stretches all the way from Manor House to north of Epping. With plenty of to see and do, all year round, winter is the perfect chance to blow out the cobwebs and explore one the best green spaces in London. 4) Explore the Zoo - London Zoo Nature Trail
Head to the London Zoo with your little explorers. Use the trail to find out about the local wildlife and learn what you can do to help local nature.
5) WWT London Wetland Centre
Visit this wonderful wildlife reserve with your little explorers. Enjoy a long family walk among lakes and meadows and spot birds and other wildlife. London Wetland Centre is just 10 minutes from Hammersmith Tube Station and is home to rare birds and other fascinating species. Tickets from £11.80.
