Explore the forest this Autumn and get creative with Superworm and Forestry England

Autumn is a beautiful season to get out to the forest with the family and who better than Superworm to help keep the little ones busy? Whether you’re exploring the world of these small but mighty creatures out in woods or at home, this much-loved superhero has you covered.

Forestry England have just released new activity sheets to help Superworm fans make the most of the season, indoors and out. And with trees displaying a breath-taking array of colours it’s the perfect time to discover amazing facts about the unsung heroes of the forest on the Superworm activity trail.

New seasonal Superworm activity sheets have just been released and include spotting the signs of autumn, weaving a spider’s web and making leafy prints. Available to download on the Forestry England website, alongside six other activity sheets full of fun things to make and do, they’re a great way for children to explore the world of rebellious reptiles, brilliant birds, and inspiring invertebrates.

If you haven’t joined in the fun already, or loved it so much you want to get out minibeast spotting and do it again, you can still find a Superworm trail near you throughout the coming months. Wrap up warm and set out on an unforgettable adventure crammed with activities to keep your young forest superheroes entertained! And while you’re there, look out for the opportunity to wish Superworm a happy birthday too! He’s 10 this year, so Forestry England are giving children the chance to help him celebrate by decorating a special card and sending their very own birthday message. You can pick one up at any of the 26 forests across the country with a Superworm activity trail, then once it’s ready just pop it in a post box free of charge or email a photograph. There are two age categories, and the winner in each will receive some Superworm goodies and membership at a Forestry England forest. The closing date is 31 October 2022, so get those crayons at the ready!
