Muddy Puddles Snow Flurry Ski Jacket Review
With the weather decidedly cold and wintery, Muddy Puddles offered to send Olly one of their Snow Flurry Ski Jackets for our weekend adventure on the Lancashire coast. They had heard that we were planning on spending an afternoon on the beach whatever the weather and thought that their Snow Jacket would make the afternoon a dry and warm one! Waterproof and windproof Our first impressions of the Snow Flurry Ski Jacket are really good. We were sent a purple Ski Jacket which is 5000mm waterproof (basically no water is getting through the outer of this jacket) and has a microfleece lining for additional warmth. I really like that it’s windproof meaning Olly stayed really warm on the beach. Not restrictive The Ski Jacket is fully breathable which allows little legs to run around enjoying themselves without getting too sweaty and uncomfortable. Olly spend a couple of hours on the beach shell hunting and playing in the sand and he was really comfortable in the jacket. It wasn’t restrictive and he could run, bend down and play in it with ease. Lots of features A freezing cold sunny beach is a great test to put the coat through its paces. There’s a zip out snow gaiter which lets you secure your little one into the coat and ensure that nothing gets up in to the coat if they fall over. This was tested by Olly on the sand which we all know gets absolutely everywhere and I’m pleased to say the sand didn’t make it past the gaiter. There’s also pockets with zips and press-studs, a thumb hole and adjustable cuffs making it easy to customise the fit of the coat for the child. It’s also worth noting there’s a little pocket on the arm of the jacket, intended for ski passes but in Olly’s case, rescued shells and snotty tissues! We especially love the reflective strips and logos for additional visibility as we walked home from the beach after sunset and Olly was visible as we walked along the pavement next to the road. I love that it has a removable hood with fur trim (which is also removable) so you can customise the ski jacket to suit the situation and it makes the coat really versatile. The Ski Jacket is also washable at 30 degrees which is great news for Parents of little ones who love to get hands on in muddy puddles and wet sand. Overall, we are really impressed with the Snow Flurry Ski Jacket. It kept Olly warm and dry on the beach and he was more than happy to stay out in the cold building sandcastles.
