What’s that we hear in the deep, dark wood this February half-term?

Why, it’s the Gruffalo, and he’s celebrating his 25th birthday with Forestry England – and everyone is invited to join the fun!

This year, the Gruffalo is turning 25 and Forestry England are marking the special occasion with a brand-new family activity trail in forests up and down the country, all the way from Cornwall to Country Durham.

The interactive family trail features all sorts of party-themed activities and games, and fun facts to teach you about life in the forest for the Gruffalo and other creatures.

Follow the colourful trail panels to help find the missing party items and give the Gruffalo a birthday to remember. Search for balloons, pinecones, apples and the Gruffalo himself, and complete fun activities and rubbings as you go along.

Once you’ve helped the Gruffalo find all the missing items, don’t forget to snap a photo with the Gruffalo, and you can even help choose him a present.

To help get the party started, you can pick up a Gruffalo trail pack for just £4. Inside the pack you’ll find fun items and activities to keep your little party animals busy; there’s an activity leaflet, stickers, pencils and crayons, party headband and a limited-edition sew-on Gruffalo badge, quite the collector’s item!
