We caught up with Suky, our brilliant buyer (and Muddy Mum) to get her tech review on this fabulous children’s multi-season waterproof coat.
Autumn is here (where did the summer go?!) so we thought we give you a helping hand to pick the perfect jacket for your little ones for the Autumn season that will carry them from school to play keeping them dry and cosy all day long. Our team of Muddy Mums in the Muddy Puddles office swear by the Puddleflex Jacket for Autumn as it’s the perfect combination of breathability, protection, quality and design, just what outdoorsy children need for light rain or torrential downpour from age 18 months to 12 years. It comes in three lovely colours, yellow being a huge favourite at the moment. There’s something about wearing a lovely yellow waterproof jacket on a rainy day, one of our little fans told us the yellow colour made him feel happy! What’s also great is that we’ve listened to your feedback from the previous season and improved the jacket even more for Autumn ‘17. Suky, our brilliant buyer is in charge of making our lovely kids waterproofs amazing quality, practical and super cute (she personally designed all of our lovely Autumn Winter 2017 jackets!) so she’s the perfect person to tell you all about the great new features and updates we’ve made on the new Puddleflex Jacket this season. Here’s what Suky told us about this lovely jacket:
'The Muddy Puddles Puddleflex Jacket is 100% waterproof with fully taped seams. It is also a warm jacket as it has a fleece lining and a layer of padding between the lining and the outer fabric, the fleece and padding make it unlike any other ‘fisherman’ style jacket, as it is suitable for the colder winter months without having to add too many layers under the jacket. For the AW17 season we lengthened our original style, for maximum coverage in heavy rain and for our little explorers who love sitting on wet benches. We have improved the shoulder construction, making it a raglan, which means the jacket sits better and fits well across a wider range of children, who of course come in all shapes and sizes! We amended the front zip to a two-way zipper, which allows children to let the bottom flap freely while they are running around, at the same time at the top part being secure and unable to fall off, keeping them warm. We have added a storm cuff to the sleeves – this is a ribbed cuff inside the sleeve and keeps the wind and cold air from getting up the arms. The internal fleece lining has been updated from a navy and white stripe to a fun chevron design and we have added contrast poppers to the pocket and front opening. My 2-year-old son has the green colourway and it’s the only coat he has that I know for certain will keep him dry and warm!' You can get your hands on this wonderful children’s waterproof jacket
