A Winter Adventure with the Snowstorm Ski Jacket
Mummy to Boyz took our brand NEW Blue Star Snowstorm Ski Jacket for a wander in the woods. Read on to find out how the jacket performed off the slopes... We were offered the chance to review the latest piece of kit in the Muddy Puddles ski range, the Snowstorm Ski Jacket. The first thing you notice is the bright yellow stars and fleece lining which add a sense of fun to the jacket. As with other Muddy Puddles jackets we own they are really comfortable to wear with all seams covered so my son has no problems feeling warm and comfortable. We love to get outside and with two boisterous boys we are out in all weathers! Ski jackets appeal to us for the boys winter coats because they tick all the boxes, warm, comfortable, very waterproof and breathable. Most normal jackets can’t cope with half an hour of rain which is no problem for a ski jacket. I liked the velcro on the hood which allowed me to adjust it back slightly to allow a better view for the boy. He was thrilled with the reflective zips and pull down ski pass holder, he thinks it’s his secret pocket! As with all ski jackets the external cuffs are fully adjustable with velcro and there’s an internal lycra cuff complete with thumbs holes. The boy found these that the thumb hole wasn’t quite big enough so felt more comfortable not using this feature. The snow skirt is comfortable and easily removed with a zip if desired. If you do take the snow skirt out it won’t cause any discomfort as the zip is covered. Overall he was able to run, jump, climb and attempt to make fire to name a few of the things we got up to at the weekend without any complaints. He loves the pattern and is ready for the chill and rain that bonfire night will no doubt bring. I would say the Snowstorm jacket is true to size, the boy is wearing aged 9-10 which is the same as the jumpers he wears. It looks and feels like a good quality jacket which I’m sure will be passed down to the young one and my friend’s children too.
